Humour doesn't mask the pain,
it let's it out.
It releases the tension of the story we tell ourselves. When we can see ourselves from a funny place, we realize we are going to be ok.
In fact, we're going to be better than ok. We're going to be fucking awesome.
(like a well timed FUPA joke)
Once you accept, love and ‘own’ who you are, THAT’s freedom.
I don’t pretend to have all the answers.
In fact I consider myself a work in progress – always learning and growing. I have navigated deep grief, debilitating burnout and the darkness of depression. I've been through my share of drama, trauma and shitastrophies.
I’m a recovering perfectionist and I have learned to let go of guilt, shame, anger, and resentment.
I have invited my inner critic to Shut.The.Fuck.Up.
Yes, I still experience fears and moments of self-doubt. Who doesn’t, right? The trick is to acknowledge it, move through it, reach out for support if needed and take action anyway. That’s what I do.
My job is to surface the things that need to be said...openly, vulnerably and humorously. My job is to reignite the spark in myself, and others, so we all experience an incredible life.
As a speaker, performer, motivator for my clients and yes...an ACTUAL fire fighter, I am on a mission to educate, empower and inspire others to stop letting life’s literal and figurative fires burn them out.
Whether we’re in a cocktail confessional or going through life’s traumedies together, I’m always finding the funny faster… because life? It’s not always funny. But we can always fucking laugh.
BE YOURSELF.
I love you,
Carla's Creed
